About how long does Cymbalta take before it works for the pain of peripheral neuropathy? Thanks, --janiee:)

I would say you should see results in about a week. If you have a little bit of relief then let your doctor know and they will probably increase it. The starting dose is usually 60mg, then increased to 120mg. I have seen a few people on 240mg but that is very, very rare because the side effects at that level are nearly intolerable. Of course they were nearly intolerable for me at 60mg but everyone is completely different.

p.s. the one big problem that most people experience is insomnia so taking first thing in the morning or when you get up will help. However, if it has the opposite effect, in that it makes you drowsy, then you should take before bedtime.
