The best calcium supplement that I have found that does not cause constipation is the chelated type that uses a protein amino acid bonded to the calcium. I use Carlson and Solgar brands but there are others on the market.

I have heard that you can take a magnesium supplement that helps. Often magnesium is already in the calcium supplement, to aid its absorption but I'm not sure if it contains enough to prevent constipation.
