Hi All!
So I am new to this board, but use others here. So I developed Vertigo for 7 weeks straight where I could pretty much not get off my couch....
I started taking 3 x 12hr Gravols + am now down to 2 a day.
Had an ENG and it came back normal. I am being investigated for MS and am waiting to see a Neuro Otologist....
Please help me. What does it mean to have a. Normal ENG???
So it is most likely not inner ear my ENT said, but what is left only central or???

Thanks a lot for all help.

it could be a variety of things. unfortunately, dizziness and vertigo can be symptoms of problems, or the problems themselves.

An ENG test determines if there is damage to the vestibular nerve. Your nerve may be fine with the problem being else where. there could be ear rocks (BPPV), an E-tube problem, a sinus problem, etc. all stuff that an neuro-otologist will look into in depth. (i personally don't like ENTs)

I know how hard it is to not have answers to why you feel the way you do. it can be very debilitating and scary. It took me about 1.5yrs to figure it out. You'll feel better once you see the neuro-oto. even if it is not an inner ear problem, he/she will probably give you some information to lead you in the right direction.

let us know how it goes and feel free to ask questions or simply vent out your frustration if you need too. :)

Thank-you number 81 for responding! I am just so frustrated because it seems like no one wants to help me or cares and this is only one of my health issues. I am getting overwhelmed with all these things and the ringing in my right ear is so loud now I just want it to STOP....
I am glad you figured yours out, but a year and a half wow! Well, at least I feel better that it is ok to take this long and there is still hope of finding out what is wrong.

Thanks
