so 2 weeks ago (april 30) i had a really hard time going to the bathroom (bowel movement, obviously, as this is the bowel disorders board:) ). I stayed too long, strained too much, finally went, but then my entire anus was swollen and painful, like someone had shoved a golf ball inside it. BUT, that was gone by the next day. well, this past saturday (the 9th), i discovered that i had a blueberry sized lump on my anus, i assume this is a hemorrhoid, right? well, with home treatment, it's shrinking down, but it's made me scared to go to the bathroom since then, as it hurts even when i pee. but today i couldn't put it off, so i went and it actually didn't really hurt, but when i was done, i felt this weird feeling in my vagina, and took a mirror and saw that my vagina actually looks kind of swollen inside. what the heck???

so it's been about 20 minutes since then, and the weird feeling is gone away, but i am afraid to look again because i am afraid it's still there.... but if it is still there, is this a rectocele???

please help me! my husband is deploying tomorrow morning, i am having all these issues, i have 3 kids, no family where i'm at, and i'm kind of freaking out!!! any advice is welcome.....

So is April 30 the first time you have ever had to strain? The first question would be whether you are getting enough fiber. I'm kind of guessing that perhaps you are like most people and do not . . . then when you add stress anticipating your husband being deployed, your system slowed down.

Eat a few extra servings of veggies and fruits, a serving of yogurt at least every couple of days (daily would be better), drink plenty of water . . . see how you feel in a couple of days. Once you strain to the point that it is sore, it can take a little time for everything to calm down.
