Hello!
Well, its always good to ask the doctor questions. If your mom's medications are going to be changed, make sure to ask about:
-> Side effects of the new drugs
-> Drug interactions with the drugs she is already on
-> How well they will work to stop the flare
-> How often blood work needs to be done (depending on the medication)
-> What if they don't work, what is the next step
-> When the next follow up appt will be
Also, make sure that you ask questions about her flare to the doctor. He will be able to tell you what organs are affected and how much just by looking at the blood work and your mom's symptoms. You could even see if he has any books that might be good for you to purchase to read up on Lupus. I would recommend a few books to you. One is "Lupus-Everything you need to know." It is really easy to read! The best way to become empowered is to read up on Lupus. Hope that your mom's appt goes well, please let me know how it goes!
