I have a grandson who is 4yrs 3mnths, luckily we sought help very early on and as diagnosed as autistic at 2yrs, he is a joy and cherished not only by us but by all who come into contact with him, we are at the moment trying to toilet train him, he is non verbal at the moment but his facilitaor, speech theapist etc all have high hopes for him,he refuses ue the toilet and wont stand on his little stool we bought, he seems to have control of his bladder because he seems to save his wee's when he dos'nt have his nappy on, we tke him to the toilet every 20mins but so far no joy, he will "go" if we stand him in the bath though which I suppose is an improvemet. Any pearls of wisdom out there???:confused:

Hi my grandson is 3 and didn't what any part of the toilet until we got rid of dairy wheat and gluten started taking cod-liver oil and vit D .
Now sometimes he says I want to go , a very big difference for him . Hope this information helps .
Plus is eye contact and speech is so much better and he's started singing .:)

Thanks for you'r reply,Dennis is still non verbal, we stopped wheat and dairy, he is making noises all the time and laughs alot!! for some reason he hates the toilet so were going to have to take baby steps!! were determined he wont go back to his nappy though so it will just a bit longer, luckily my daughter is very laid back and dos'nt stress easily, he has at least learnt to stand still when he has an accident ha ha, so at least the mess stays in one place, he also wags his finger at his mum!!
