May 3/09 I had severe pain and I was opened up and was found to
have 7" too long a colon and it COLLASPED and the surgeon took out 7"
and sewed the 2 ends together.(OPEN SURGERY) I am 68 years old
and all my life
I have had constipation and have had to take meds to make my bowels
move. My bowels are moving on their own for the first time in my life.
I now have an infection in my bellybutton. I have neen on Keflex
(antibiotic) for 5 days and i do see a difference. I have 3 more days to go on it.
I am worried it won't be all gone when I finish Keflex.
Have any of you had a infection? What did you take and for how long please?
Thank you for your help. jinkyns

Infections, of varying degrees, after surgery, particularly bowel surgery, are very common. Ask you doctor what to do if there is still difference. Are you running a fever? If so, you need to see a doctor right away.
