1 of 2 inquiries I have up now; thought I'd separate them as different issues.
How have you figured that your baby wants to transition to fewer naps? Was it painful or pretty easy? When did it happen going to 1 nap? Do you just go with the flow or have structured scheduling to have the baby nap at certain times, and then noticed baby only slept once per day?
I’m just wondering about age and so on, and if there are signs besides “he won’t sleep more”. I’m having a lot of scheduling issues for other reasons, and George seems all messed up for it and often is only “allowed” 1 nap (because he won’t go to sleep anywhere but crib). Of course, at 14 mos he could be wanting just 1 nap perhaps?

My twins are 13 months old and recently have cut back to one nap on their own. I just let them play and when i see they look tired i sit with them for their nap. Some days they want 2 naps but most days just 1. they fall asleep instantly in the car so some days they get extra nap time if we are going places. But i totally leave it up to them.

I'm wondering the same thing. My 14 month old still takes 2 naps. She gets up at 6am and is ready for another nap at about 9:30 and then another around 2:00. I would like to condense it into one long nap closer to noon, but for now she is soooooo cranky at 9:30 am that I have to put her down. At daycare, she still takes 2 naps. She is the youngest there and is the only one to take a morning nap, and then she has to go down when everyone else goes down after lunch and she's not ready. We're just going with the flow for now. Good luck!
