Today i was driving home from work and i had a heart bump or palpatation (ive been having them a while and they make me feela bit woozy) then my sight went weird and it started to go black and i felt like i was going to faint.I stopped the carandwithing a few seconds i was ok, although a little weak and shaky and hot.

What could it have been? ie neveractually fainted but this i would term as being the closest ive come.

Ive had a lot of stress these past few weeks, could it be related? or shoudl i seek some medical help?

Definitely get it checked out. There are lots of things that you wouldn't like to be having that can manifest this way, like mini stroke, high blood pressure, diabetic reaction or some neurological events. It probably is stress, also had you not eaten enough, or been dehydrated, perhaps? Anyone can have an episode like this, but if it happens again, head off to the doctor. A checkup can do no harm anyway

I have had a load of blood work done over last month.

I have not got high blood pressure it borders on lowish. but never low enough to make me faint.

this faint feeling was preceeded by a heart palp, i had some beta blockers about 3 years ago for stress induced palps and its similiar, but this time i almost fainted driving and thats dangerous.

Im wondering whether to go for MORE tests, im sick of tests. But somethingsnot right. Now about 5 hrs after i feel tired and a bit of a headache.

Off to see a cardiologist tomorrow about my palps and near faint. I have a family history so i think its best to check it out.

Went to cardiologist. Had an ECG done which was normal. He did a few body checks and wants me to have an echo cardiogram done next week.

He will see me after the results get back and we go from there..... he doesnt want to miss anything so were covering all bases.

Saw your post and was curious to see what your doctor has said.

I have been experiening these exact symptoms for 7-8yrs. its probably happened about 10-15 times total.

I suffer from PVC's, PAC's and anixety/panic disorder.

I had a holter monitor test years ago and discovered the pvcs and pacs. I recently had two ecocardiograms, chest xray, ekgs and cardiac catherization for a viral infection called myocarditis which is now gone..but nothing else was discovered.

Thanks

Hi,

Im wearing a 7 day ecg i think holter im on day 5. Guess what ive not had one palp. Typical.

I had an ultrasound on my heart last week which was normal, i think its stress, what i have had is odd feelings of like dreaming , and every so often a weird hot feeling like a faint coming on then just a hot flush type thing and im ok again. Really all very weird.

Thanks..keep me posted on what the holter reveals. I am headed into the doctor today to review my holter done 8 years ago and check to see if i should get this all checked out again since i had an episode yesterday while driving..lasted about 10-15 seconds but it was real scary.

It happened again today. Driving my car. This time my child was in car with me. It just came from nowhere. All went black and almost fainted, then chest felt weird, then after about 7 secs it all went back to normal again, except for a bit of a headache afterwards.
My cardio is on holiday and im going away on monday, im really scared, my ENT Doc has rdered me a brain scan for mon morning. :(

BTW i didnt have it between first post and today.

I had another episode yesterday. I was driving on the outside lane of the motorway and the palps came and it started to go black. I was really scared and pulled over to the hard shoulder. Got some air and was ok again and drove on,

So i went to see my Cardiologist who now wants to put one of these implanted monitors in my chest which stay on for up to 3 years. After the first episode i have to record it and then he should be able to tell whats going on from the reading.

Im quite worried as it is getting more frequent now and im scared he may say i have to have a pacemaker!!

Anyone else had these problems?
