It's been a year since my last IV ABX and I am feeling good. I know that I am lucky. I had six months of IV ABX, had LD Stage 3,and thought my life was nearly over.... I am still trying to regain my life, a little each day. I started working out 6 weeks ago with a personal trainer. I am finding that (1) my grip and forearms are very weak and not getting much stronger (at worst pt. of LD --I could open a jar lip if I had to..); (2) my legs, esp quads and calves remain weak and sore for 2-3 days after each workout; (3) Post workout recovery takes 3 days before the soreness disapates. HAs anyone else been lucky enough to recovery to this point and had workout experiences. Does it get better and easier?

12gage congratulations on feeling better! I am still being treated and find that exercise can be a great benefit; however, in my opinion it is extremely important to listen to your body. If you have been inactive for some time, it would probably be better to start off very slowly and gradually. Speak to your trainer about this. Allow yourself enough time to recover from the workout so it will benefit you. I know it is difficult to be patient. Little by little over time you should get stronger. Good luck!

All: Let me clarify. I am quite adept at weights, sports, and working out. I am a master powerlifter and have play both college and pro football. My trainer is one on the top trainers in the nation -- trains the Univ MD 2002 National Basketball Champs and many football pros as well. My wife is a top flight emergency and trauma doctor. I am surrounded with expertise, but none of us nor research seems to discuss the longer-term impacts and unwanted gifts from Lyme. Please, I would like to hear from individuals who have recovered from Stage 3 Lyme and their experiences in regaining peak physical condition and strength. Lyme seems to be holding me back significantly. Thanks...
