I have been treated for lymes for the last six months.
My doctor thought we had a handle on it after 12 weeks of IV'S. He took me off that and started me on Orals.
That lasted 5 weeks, then it all came back. He put me on the IV again, telling me I could be on this for 6 months. He wants to give me a weeks worth of "Flagyl"
Any else have this treatment? Does it work ? What is working out there for this disease ? I have had lymes for 4 years, Like alot of people, just diagnosed with it 6 months ago.

Yes, Flagyl is very helpful, and that may well have been what finally put my feet on solid ground. I would not hesitate to try it along with your other antibiotic therapy. I go to a wonderful, knowledgeable doctor, who has added that to the treatment for Lyme. She has proved herself time after time as knowing exactly how to treat this disease. I wish you the best.

Hi Jane, I just wanted to ask about flagl. My grandson (I raise) has lyme for prob 10yrs had it at 4 he is 15 almost now. He's been on many antibiotics now on rocephin thru port in chest for 6mo & they just added another 6mo plus flagl 2x's day. What side effects did you get w/this. He's been on it about 3 days now don't see anything really yet except tired & his hearing seemed very sharp. Just wanted to hear from someone who tried it & your dr sounds good. Good luck!
