I have a hobby of painting and design, one of which I am thinking of making into a career. I am currently working on designs to submit to companies.

However, this is my concern....should I be worried about my health? I have read that some paints have a Prop 65 warning on them, indicating (from my understanding) that in CAlifornia they have shown these cause cancer and/or reproductive toxicity. I think I own one or two colors that have that warning label.

Should this concern me? I chose acrylics because I like its texture - oil paints I believe are far worse, as their smells are much stronger. Watercolors do have a warning too, though for very few colors. However I find watercolors very light in texture.

I usually create in my room due to the more sunlight I have, but the windows are at opposite ends of my desk. If I do make it with my creative submissions, I'm more likely to use acrylics more often then, since the majority of my works are paintings.

Any advice on this? Am I putting my health at risk?
