If you have genital herpes you are fine.. if it is oral I would say refrain from kissing them on the mouth/chin area.:)

i can remember my mom getting cold sores every now and again and she kissed me good night when i was a kid every night. i never got it and didn't even realize it was a form of herpes until i was 23
