#1 It would depend on if the person was actively having an OB, then the chances of transmition to you would be higher then if they were not, there is always a 1% chance of transmition even if you follow all the rules and use all the precautions, slight and slim but there neverless. Another factor is which type does this person have HSV1 or HSV2, you can have HSV1 in the genital area, it is the less aggressive of the two and the person tends to have fewer and less OB's then with #2 but it is still passable. My best advice would be if you do not show any symptoms within 2-25 days then to go have a blood test, IgG in about 4 months to see if there are any antibodies in your system, that is really the only way to be 100% sure.. It is very scary sometimes but there are a lot people who have this virus and pass it and never know they have it... FACT. Be safe for yourself and future partners know your status...
