Hi

I had an operation on 1st May to remove my colon, this was my 11th surgery. Now its gone as times going on I seem to be feeling iller not better, and my stomach has got very tender, I know it takes a long time to recover and although a struggle im dealing with it all well, I just need some diet tips. I had some from the hospital who told me treat it like i have an illestomy bag for the first few months but all i can see i can eat is pasta, rice, pototoe, bananas and eggs....any idea what else will not affect my stomach?

Thanks

Wow that sound so familiar I had exactly the same advice. Its no good trust mine was awful constantly on the loo... etc but you know all that... Lol.

All I can say is what I have done start very gently with light foods like fish, boiled chicken, (doesn’t sound good) if you boil with a stock cube much nicer trust me. If your still very lose try a little light scrambled egg with a good bit of milk to stop it going rubbery. I found that pasta and potatoes where heavy and stodgy in my stomach and made the pain worse I tried with sweet potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, rice and the least amount of fat as possible cheese n stuff like that was to greasy. tomatoes n acidy foods can also cause problems as can to much fruit

hope this helps as this was my experience
