Ok so, I recently got tinnitus so ive been very anxious and depressed about it, this was bad because im already a very anxious person. I then started to get a stiff neck and back, and have had a weird sensation in my leg for a while, like a numb, tingling sensation and the doctor said it might be a trapped nerve a while back. I saw a doctor again recently, he agreed that it might be a trapped nerve in my leg and that the stiff neck and back is probably due to stress over my tinnitus. Then just the other day, I was playing pool and felt this spasm in my arm and its felt numb since then and im worried its a similar problem to my leg and worried that it wont go away. Anyone got any advice? Thanks.

I get some tingling and such every now and then in various limbs. Usually a few weeks of deep tissue massage will take care of that. Might be a nerve thing, might be a knot.... give massage a try. If that doesn't help, by all means pursue it a bit.

just to get the ball rolling here by looking at the more obvious places that could be generating your current symptoms,i would see your primary for a full neuro eval and ask to be sent for an MRI done on your c spine, and maybe the brain as well(not as important right now as just getting a good look at your c spine is)? given your symptoms and just the way the dermatomes and myotomes run in our bodies, the area of the neck on up to about slightly more than midway up the back of your head is somewhat innervated from that c spine area. this really would be the very best type of baseline test to have done right now. depending upon what does or does not actually show up on that MRI, preferrably with a contrasting agent, would dictate what if any steps should be taken after. but it IS the best place to start given what you are describing as symptonms at this point.

just using that contrasting agent during the MRI really helps to highlight certain areas that do not always show up really well without it upon MRI. they just do one set of scans without it,then they would put in an IV(then add the contrast) and do another set to compare what gets picked up. like i mentioned already, this IS a really great place to start in trying to obtain reasons/diagnosis for any level of symptoms like yours. just see your doc about your symptoms and the referral for MRI. hopefully it is not something major. but what you are simply showing/feeling really needs better definition and an MRI would really help with that part. please keep us posted, FB

Hi Markus1, your symptoms sound very like those of a friend of mine - which were cured by Prozac, as the underlying cause seemed to be low seratonin, which would seem to stack up with the anxiety etc. The bad news is he has to still take it every day or the symproms come back - but maybe the good news is that it's pretty harmless stuff, I speak as a user for many years! I'm no expert but I hope this helps maybe. Best wishes
