I have been taking centrum silver which I think is similar, for the past 6 years it has never affected my blood pressure. I believe it may be coincidental. Although it could possibly effect some people differently.

And your heart rate hasn't increased?
DW123 05-25-2009, 12:31 PM
It was usually in the 70 range, although now that I'm taking a beta blocker it is around 60 bpm.

oh, I have taken Magnesium supplements to regulate and lower my heart rate. It works as if it's a Beta Blocker but without the side effects.

That's interesting, I'm going to check into that. I would love to get off the beta blocker. How long have you been taking this supplement?

Actually, I live in Egypt and we don't have cheap supplements here. I used to take magnesium supplements, that my father got to me from the US, for over 3 years until I ran out of it :), yet my heart rate was good until I started to take alot of supplements few days ago. Anyway, I used to take 250mg Magnesium Oxide. I found a great chewable Magnesium Aspartate (something like that) which is better absorbed than the Oxide version, but it's expensive too. I started taking it again and in few hours I'm back to normal :)
I was on Zebeta 5mg for few years but I went off this awful drug class because of the many side effects. my heart rate went up again, 80 90 and even 100, until I started Magnesium. Right now I think my problem is from the Thyroid, I feel fatigue no matter what I do or what I take or not take. I have poor concentration, anxiety, depression, poor memory and I feel lost in space. I have done all the blood tests I know of, and many ultrasound scans with no use. Good luck, Michael DW123 05-25-2009, 01:31 PM
I can sypathize with you. My thyroid is non functioning, I take 125 mcg Synthroid to regulate my thyroid. Have you had test done on your thyroid yet? Thank you for the information on the supplement.

You are welcome, ya I have had TSH, FT4 and FT3. At first TSH was 0.00 and my FT4 was 0.1 higher than the maximum, yet the symptoms were Hypo. My dr didn't know what to say, he asked me to do a nuclear scan and it can normal so he suggested that I have inflammation and give me medication for 6 months. The medication didn't know anything, I still have the symptoms but it the blood tests came normal. That was 3 years ago. Anyway, could you please tell me your symptoms?
By the way, I'm using Omega 3 too. It's a great replacement for NSAIDs, and of course benefits the whole body. Thanks for help, Michael DW123 05-25-2009, 02:03 PM
I had the same symptoms as you described previously in your post.I was not even aware that I had a thyroid problem, My Doctor did a number of tests when he found my thyroid problem, apparently my thyroid had not been working for a year or so. My wife has a thyroid problem also, in addition to your symptoms her hair was also thinning out. She had her thyroid surgically removed, because she had cancer.
I hope everything works out for you okay and your thyroid problem is resolved. cartner 06-01-2009, 07:00 PM
Thanks and I'm glad to say that my Thyroid is fine. By the way, when you look into Magnesium supplements don't get Magnesium Oxide as its bioavaliability is so bad. You wouldn't get 15mg out of the 500mg tablet.
DW123 06-02-2009, 07:27 AM
Glad to hear that, also thanks for that information.
