Hello...
My TMJ story is long and painful so Ill spare you...needless to say Ive spent years and thousands seeking pain relief. Last year I was blessed enough to be able to withstand a pregnancy...I was lucky and didnt throw up much cause that would have hurt jaw worse. The first 3 months the pain was HORRIBLE and I cried a lot becuase there was nothing I could do but use ice. in the later month my joints loosened up...however during the entire pregnancy despite all my cravings I could not eat enough to keep my baby growing inside me at a good pace. Chewing equaled pain. I managed to get her up to 5 lbs at the end of my term.
i am now new to florida and the pain is back and intense. Anyone have good treatment options in South FLoirida? I found a good PT but I cant really afford to go much with the baby bills. I want so bad to be out of pain to give my daughter all the energy I can. Ive been using her ice teethers on my joints and I can tens again but the drugs are starting to call me and Im afraid to be drugged and hurt her. I need like trigger point injections to just temp help the pain. Ive considered and been recommended to have surgery but Ive never yet heard of surgery having good long term results. My future saddens me pain wise and I just want to be there for my daughter

Dr. Reda Abdel-Fattah in Boca Raton, FL provides fair, standardized, non-surgical treatment, including trigger point injections. I've rec'd. injections from him several times.

Congratulation on your new baby. I bet it was hard having to eat and keep nourished for her while being pregnant.

Have you checked out prolotherapy yet- that might be money better spent than on PT as PT never really helped me . I haven't had prolotherapy but another girl posted recently that said it helped her. I have thought about it in the past. I don't blame you for not wanting to go the surgery route, try everything else first.
I don't know what caused your tmj, but have you tried cranial osteopathy?

I am having neural cranial restructuring done in a couple weeks, as I feel I have cranial problems as my main problem , will report back on that after I have it done.

I bet they must have quite a few prolotherapists in Florida.
