I had sex with a girl 12 days ago and she decided to conveniently tell me afterwards that she had herpes. So Ive been stressing ever since. During sex with her I kept my boxers on (not sure if that matters as far as where the rash or area gets infected). She did tell me though that shes on once daily valtrex 1000 mg and that she hasnt had an outbreak in a month in a half. Yesterday the rash looked large and redder but today it kind of lessened and there doesnt seem to be as many . Please help me and give me some peace of mind. Thank you

Best thing would be to go get checked out by your doctor or std clinic. It could be many things. Having your boxer shorts on (and hopefully a condom?) would protect you a bit more but since this was a high risk encounter, go get it looked at while it's still there. Ask them to swab and "type" it so if it is herpes, you will know whether type 1 or 2.
While at the doctor's ask them to run a 'type specific IgG blood test" at the same time. That way you will know your status for herpes and go from there.
