what can i do once i get an outbreak
If you have already been diagnosed ..I would put a call into the doctor and see if they can call in Valtrex or another drug to help the duration of the outbreak.
If you have not been diagnosed and think you have it.. then I suggest that you go to a doctor to have the lesion cultured.. also request an IgG type specific test (if it is a new infection within the past 3-4 months it may not show up yet since your body hasn't had enough time to build the antibbodies):):)
