The only good thing I can say is you have excellent HDL! Otherwise, you should be under a doctor's care for possible diabetes and to lower your LDL and Triglycerides.

HDL is high, which is good in terms of heart disease risk.

But LDL is high, which is bad for heart disease risk. And glucose is in what is called the pre-diabetic range.

Loss of excess body fat should help both the LDL and glucose levels. Increasing exercise should also help with the glucose levels.

Thanks for your replies. Actually I'm not overweight at all, though I do have a little more belly fat than I'd wish. Will try to get rid of that.

Note that belly fat is generally considered more dangerous to your health than body fat elsewhere, like in your hips.

Note that it is also possible to not be overweight, but still have too much body fat for good health, if you do not have much muscle mass. Conversely, you can be overweight, but not be at added risk of obesity related conditions like diabetes and high cholesterol if your extra weight is muscle rather than fat.

Thanks for the info! I really don't have much muscle mass, if any...

You may wish to include weight training in your exercise (e.g. pushups, pullups, dips, squats, rows, etc.) to help build your muscle. Added muscle will help you lose body fat, because muscle consumes calories even at rest.

Trying to spot reduce body fat by exercising the muscles in that area is generally futile. You need to lose body fat in general; the loss will come in a pattern determined by your genetics (the reverse of how you gained the fat).

For the most part, losing body fat is just calories in versus calories used. But note that calories used includes your base metabolism; if you have little muscle mass (as may be the case if you are not overweight, but are carrying a lot of body fat), your base metabolism will be lower, making it easier for you to gain fat and harder for you to lose fat. In this case, you may wish to build up your muscles with weight training (pushups, pullups, dips, squats, rows, etc.) as part of your exercise.

Fat in the belly area has been found in studies to be more likely to aggravate diabetes and bad blood cholesterol than fat in other places like the hips.

Low carbs is a great way to lose belly fat. And the belly is usually where you will first notice fat if you start eating a lot of carbs again.
