Hi
I just seem to have so many asthma flare ups. I have been on prednisone this year a total of at least nine weeks. I am short of breath, coughing and have chest tightness. I have alot of allergies and other triggers so I find it hard to avoid everything.
Can anyone relate??

Perhaps you need to change your meds or dosages and also see about allergy shots. There is no need for things to be this out of whack...

I had allergy shots as a child and teenager and tried them afew years ago and had reactions that put me in the hospital. I have just changed my medications but I am still having problems. I am going to a respiratory rehab next week so I am hoping they will have some ideas. I agree that my asthma should not be so uncontrolled. I think the weather here is not helping. It's cool one day and then warm and then raining the next.

Do you use a nebulizer? I had to use one regularly for several months, to get mine under control, along with Advair and Singulair. I couldn't tell you the last time I had to use it. And now, I'm also able to cut the Advair and Singulair dosages in half. But I do agree this crazy weather can aggravate asthma.
