I am 42 and have always been a heavy bleeder with my periods and I since taking Yaz for a whole year my bleeding became lighter and shorter. I stopped taking it for three months; and now I am back taking it. However, this time, I got my period the first month after I started, and it was very light and only for 1 day. Then, the second month I got it again, but I only bled one time like a spotting and that was it. Now, it is the third month, and I didn't get anything at all. I took a EPT and it came out negative. Is this normal?

I will have to read my "instructions" to be for sure but I think it states that you may not have a period. Look into it. It will either tell u this is normal or to ask your doctor. You should always ask your doctor if you have questions like this if you feel unsure.

Isn't the whole point of why you went on the pill to help your heavy bleeding? Supposedly, the pill is supposed to make your periods lighter and shorter. That's common knowledge. However, sometimes, there are some pills that will cause women to not have a period. There are posts on this board about women on Yaz who haven't gotten a period. It happens. You should be happy that you're not bleeding anymore? I'd be happy if the pill ever did that for me, but it didn't. I had more painful cramps and the bleeding wasn't much less heavy for me. So I don't know why so many women complain about having a much lighter or even absent period. I'd personally be happy about that.
