I am curious if this is a symptom of ADHD or just me being forgetful.
I often find myself repeating things to people without realizing it. Things that are going on in my daily life I will tell someone like 3 times over the course of the day completely unaware that I already told them, only realizing when they say "Yeah you already told me". I've always just called it my CNN Headline News Syndrome (You know how CNN, or any 24 hour news network, always repeats all of the top stories of the day every hour because they assume that the people watching it now weren't watching it an hour ago). I find myself mentioning to someone that I just saw (For example) "Star Trek" then a few hours later, I will be talking to them again and mention it again. But this happens constantly, almost daily for me. Most of my friends are used to it by now though and don't even mention anything anymore, and I have to ask them if I had already told them. Is this something that is related to ADHD? Or is it just me being normal, or is just me being forgetful?

My Mom does the same thing (she too has ADD).... if I do it, I'm still in denial! But my Mom is notorious for it! It's kind of a funny family joke.... especially when it's the same thing several times in just a couple of days. Okay, I confess, I do the same thing on occasion.... but not that often (or maybe that's the denial again!).
I think for me, it's because I am thinking faster than I can get the thoughts out. I am already halfway through the next thought, before I even start sharing the previous thought. Then later in the conversation, I'll share the same thought again, not realizing that I had already said it outloud, because I thought past the sharing part.... does that make any sense at all??? Like I'm saying the words outloud, but even as I'm saying them, I'm already thinking about the next thing I want to say, so I think my brain doesn't even acknowledge what I just said outloud.... yeah.... something like that.
It really doesn't happen that often anymore, but I think it's because I recognized that I was doing it, so I know better now and have been retraining my brain to focus on the conversation as it's happening, and not on the next thing I want to say.
I have no idea if any of that made any sense.... I have a hollering 10 month old in my ear at the moment! That kind of drowns out everything else!!! :D

I have bipolar-repeat-myself-disorder.
I've been known to walk away mid-sentence in a conversation cuz I got distracted. Some time later I see person sitting/standing in same position with jaw hung low. What was it I was saying? The answer is always the same, "absolutely nothing" then they walk away.
I don't understand why I use so many words just to say "absoutely nothing." Count'em. Only two ain't it?
Any help for us BRMDers?
Any kind of slop I can eat that will help?
Ok, got to quit. I'm wetting myself. Tears are rolling. Gut has split.
Bye
