Klonipin is often prescribed this way to get quicker results like the above poster said. If you are having a panic attack and have to wait for the usual process (approx. 45 mins) for the body to absorb and start utilizing the medication it can be too long to wait with a full fledged panic attack. You should reserve this way of using for when you really need it....when I had just gotten out of the hospital the doctor told me to use it that way until my panic was "under control". I found klopinpin made me feel angry and switched Benzos with better results but because I could take it the under the tongue that's why they initially prescribed it. Some meds you should never chew or let dissolve in your mouth, so don't do it with other Benzos :).
