Hello everyone!

I'm a newbie here...I'm trying to quit smoking and I do well for 2-3 days and then I relapse. So I am joining here in hopes of having the added support so that when I feel the need to smoke I can come in and read other posts and posts to help myself.

I look forward to chatting with you all and getting to know you!

Jan, what are you using to help you quit? Chewing gum? Nicotine replacement? Hypnotism? Meditation? There are many tools that some find useful to get through the process, with differing results. It's tough to change to "the other side" and become a non-smoker. Give us some background, let us know what you're going through, and trust me, most of us have "been there". Someone just may have something to offer that will be just what you need to help you get through today...... and then tomorrow.

Read Allen Carr's EasyWay to Quit Smoking. I checked it out at my local library. It has helped me tremendously and I am not struggling.

I am pregnant so I can't use anything to help....my doc doesn't reccomend anything besides cold turkey...

I'm going 4 days without smoking at all then when I go back to work I smoke 2-3 cigarettes per shift (work 12's 3 on 3 off 4 on 4 off). I have no problem not smoking when not at work.

It's extremely frustrating and I feel so guilty that I'm hurting my baby. I need to quit for myself but also for my baby and family.

I've been trying to quit for over a year....some sucess for a few months then right back at it though I've never smoked more than half a pack a day and that was at my worst.

Allen Carr's EasyWay to Quit Smoking is a book that I checked out of our local library. I quit cold turkey too and believe it or not usually is the easiest way to go, contrary to what some people say. Withdrawal is only 3 days whereas if you use NRT, you are constantly in withdrawal because you keep giving yourself the drug you're addicted to.
