ok so my left jaw clicks by ear pretty hard...light finger pressure on area just outside ear and can feel something bumping out on slight open/close and side to side. If I put finger in ear (not in canal but on cartilage just outside canal)and pull straight back all clicking is gone and jaw seems smooth. Is that so with you out there as well with clicking?? I go for an MRI prob next week. I don't notice any swelling or pain in TMJ itself.
Also on exertion, sometimes something tightens up from lower thru cheek area...and click worsens for a bit. What else can do this? Also if i press on bony bump on lower jaw upon open/close it stops as well  Thanks

I believe that is normal. And yes I can feel that too. But I don't know if it's normal. Just feels like a normal occurance as you open/close your mouth.
No that method does not stop my clicking.
Maybe muscle tension could do it, if it's not due to your TMJ joints. I know clicking can normally occur in your joints or so I've been told. Unless muscular, the MRI will probably show the problem.
Let us know how it goes.
