I wondered if anyone else is experiencing this lately. We could tell each other it is going to be okay and will go away soon :)

I used to have more stomach type tension, including nausea and IBS.

Over the past few days, though, I've been having major neck and jaw tension, (and arm pain--like it feels if you sleep on top of your arm all night.)

I thought I might be getting sick, that it was a sore throat starting, but now I realize it's just tension I'm holding in my jaw/neck.

Why oh why can't I relax, even when I'm trying?

Thanks to anyone who reads this, and I wish you well!

IBS can also lead to referred pain in your shoulders/neck/etc.

Teeth grinding and clenching can also cause neck, shoulder pain. There's a TMJ site here with a long list of symptoms. Jaw pain is one of them along with headaches, etc.

Have you tried taking muscle relaxers or a med. for anxiety? I take Lexapro for anxiety everyday & a Xanax during the day only when necessary. Flexeril is a good muscle relaxer to try.

I get terrible neck, shoulder and arm pain from tight neck muscles. I'm currently seeing a Chiro as the pain is so bad. The other thing that helps is therapeutic massage. I also take magnesium tablets, it's suppose to help the muscles relax but it hasn't helped me.
