I keep coming across information about the mercury in amalgam fillings contributing to MS symptoms. Has anyone gotten their fillings replaced and noticed an improvement in their symptoms? Is there anything to this or is it just another money making scheme? Thanks!

Several years ago, a work colleague's wife with MS had all her amalgam fillings removed. It did not end up improving her symptoms. However, she had a very aggressive form of MS, so it may not be a good data point to go by. She unfortunately passed away from MS complications a few years ago.

It is just a scam created out of needless conjecture. I had my first fillings loooong after I had MS.

Definately a scam, and might I ask....where did you find this information? Unless you found it in your immediate dentist's office, id have to say you are reading something terribly outdated.
Be careful what you read online....most of it is OUTdated, or a SCAM! This "scam" went around about ten years ago and people actually did it....its not possible for this to affect your MS. And, thats been proven over and over.

60 minutes had a segment on it several years ago. I've also read it in books, Ann Boroch recommends having them removed in her book and Dr. Whitaker (the radio talkshow) also says to remove them but not specifically for MS. Several countries have banned the use of them... There's a lot of info on it, but there's a lot of info on other scams as well so you never know what to believe...
