It's nearing the end of August and lots of children are back to school or on the way to that step. This seems to be the time when parents start to see what is going on with their children, when it comes to any particular difficulties they may be having.

I imagine the activity will be on the increase on this board as more and more information trickles back from school to home.

I have 2 children with issues that I am concerned about for this school year. I guess I am sort of holding my breath. I also have an 18 year old who dropped out this past year as a junior, after having the best term ever. His attitude was "because I can". I know he has learning issues, but I was hoping for some stability.

Hi, I'm just learning about this LD Problem they say my son has, it's so difficult to pin point if that is the correct label he should have because he's also ADHD and on adderall he's 13 and a bright boy but sometimes he gets himself in situations where the teachers are stunned he doesn't like school says he really doesn't have a favorite subject but is been in constant trouble in school in a year he goes to two different schools right now he's in an alternative program he's so close to being put out the door of school abd I don't know what else to do I tryed counseling, tutoring and therapy and I swear I just can't seem to get in and help him. I hope that maybe being LD they find a way for him to like school I wonder if he doesn't like school because he doesn't understand but why does he misbehave in school and get into constant fights and talks back to some teachers? I just don't know where to go anymore with him I need helpo and I need it now he's almost 16 and in Chicago it's ok for a 16 year old to drop out of school.
