Gynocamstia is development of breast tissue and can be caused by a number of things, one of which is trauma. There are other reasons, and a number of teenage boys may have actual gynocmastia.

To tell wether you have breast tissue of just a fatty deposit in the breast area, place your right(left) arm over your head and then feel around your nipple area with your left(right) hand. If you can actually feel a mass there and it doesn't disappear in this position, then you most likely have gynocamstia. If it is soft and squishy or mostly disappears in this position, then it is most likely a fatty deposit at the breast. It is best to have a medical person examine you to make sure.

In males that develop breast tissue the risk of breast cancer goes up many fold. I was being treated for suspected Klinefelter Syndrome with supplemental testosterone, which in turn caused breast tissue to grow on both sides. It grew real fast, and I was advised to get it removed immediately, which I did. I have had a bi-lateral mastectomy and am glad that I don't have to deal with breast tissue now.
