Recently I found a lump on the underside of shaft very close to the base. The lump is directly in the middle. The lump is hard and about the size of a pea. It's not visible. It can be only felt when touched. I'm scared that it's cancer. It doesn't help that I worry constantly about everything. I'm 16 years old by the way. Please respond.

It's probably unlikely to be cancer, but if you are not sure, it is best for your doctor to check it out to make sure!

Is this lump close to or associated with the veins that supply blood to your penis? Also, is it more noticeable when erect? Chances are this is nothing, but maybe with a bit more info we can help put your mind at ease. However, its never a bad thing to have things checked out by a doc!

Thanks for the replies. The lump can only be felt when touched. I have to feel around to get to it. It is not at all visible even when erect. It's in the deeper tissues not the skin.

I suspect this is just some little part of the plumbing, but next time you're at the doc you might ask. UNLESS something changes with it or you notice swelling or pain...then RUN to the doc!
