View Full Version : Help! My erections lie flat upon my stomach and are totally immobile!

I am 23 and I have a typical length and thickness penis. But when I have an erection, it gets VERY hard and points STRAIGHT UP with the glans (head) actually lying on my abdomen (even if I am standing). There is also a slight upwards bend in my erection (but I don't believe I have Peyronie's!).

My huge problem is that I can not really move my penis down from my abdomen! While masturbating or playing I can push extremely hard (painful!) down on my penis and the most my erection angle lowers is to perpendicular with my body. But when I let go, it immediately slaps back up against my abdomen. Any more pressure on it and it will snap I think.

I used to believe my erections were normal, but after reading much and viewing many photos and pornographic media, I now know I am strange. It seems that nearly all males have erect penises that point roughly straight OUT from the body (perpendicular, not up parallel to the body like mine).. And male erections (other than mine) apparently can be moved up or down for easier insertion.

I fear my "too erect" penis will affect my ability to perform various sexual positions. :( Will I be able to have girl-on-top sex? Will my penis forever face up at my face?

Please help me. Is this normal? Or is this just because I'm an energetic young man?

Thanks!

Certainly sounds like you've got good blood flowing to your friend! It is common for penises when erect to point up toward the stomach or even curve such that the head touches the area on or near the stomach (course depending on the size) I'd rather not say how, but I had a best friend in HS who's penis sounds alot like yours. Anyway, I don't know that's it's going to present a problem for you. Our equipment is designed to work with the other equipment we come in contact with (if you know what I mean!) However, the pain caused by moving it down may create a problem. You shouldn't be worried about pain when you're supposed to be having pleasure! I'm not sure what to say other than you may talk with a doc. It may just be something you'll have to "work around" and not be able to get into some positions. Hope I've helped, maybe others can offer some tips or something. I wouldn't worry about the not being normal thing, you just have a very powerful erection and it likes looking up at you!

From what you are describing it does sound like you would have trouble having intercourse in certain positions.

From what I've read, the penis is attached to our body by ligaments. One of the main ligaments is above the penis and attaches somewhere around the pubic bone. Ignoring any curvature that you might have, it sounds like you have a very short ligament. When you get erect and the penis grows, the ligament holds the root while the rest of it expands. Think of it somewhat like a fulcrum. The root expands and pushes out while the ligament holds tight so the visible part of the penis has nowhere to go but up.

Some of the operations that men have to increase their penises specifically cuts that ligament. It allows more of the penis to come out but a consequence is that the erection no longer has support so it kind of hangs downward. You might be a candidate of cutting that ligament. I would imagine that you would hang much lower after that and you would probably gain in some length too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let me correct myself, I misread the part where you said could get it perpendicular to your body. Forget about the cutting part above. You should be OK but you'll just have to be a bit carefull in some positions so that you don't hurt yourself. In the meantime keep on stretching that ligament by pushing your penis downward. Over time, that ligament will stretch out and you'll eventually be hanging lower.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is all just an opinion from a compilation of things I have read. I would really suggest that you see a urologist who would have experience in dealing with erections.

Good Luck.

While it might be embarassing, I think you should talk to a doctor about this. They have seen and heard everything, so you won't shock them with your questions. It's better than worrying.

I suspect that you simply have very tight ligaments supporting your penis. Very upright erections are typical of young men and the angle will drop as you get older. However, you probably don't want to wait 20 years...so go see that doctor.

Peace,
Jane

It is normal for the erections of young men and teenagers to be very stiff and rigid. The actual "hardness" of your penis is determined by the amount of blood captured in the penis. Hard is good. The reason that your penis sharply points up toward your belly is because the ligaments attached to your penis are very tight. Again, this is normal. With time and use these ligaments will start to stretch allowing the penis angle to relax. Your erection should still stay hard, but you may not point to the sky all the time.

The important thing at this time is to not to force the angle. You can damage yourself. There is a condition called "penile fracture" (no there are no bones) where you can tear the tissues inside the penis. This is a very painful condition. A good rule of thumb (no pun intended) is if it hurts to do it then don't do it.

Take it slow

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. BUT I REALLY WOULD NOT CALL IT A PROBLEM AT ALL. IM 34 AND ITS ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THAT. ITS A ADVANTAGE BECAUSE ITS STAYS HARDER AND THERE IS GOOD BLOOD FLOW.JUST BE CAREFUL BENDING IT.BASICLLY DONT. DO WHAT FEELS GOOD TO YOU. SO YOU CANT TO SOME POSTIONS, THATS OK.

Well, I must say... In some ways I wish I had your problem. I have an opposite problem, I worry that mine doesn't have high enough support. My partner's is very similar to yours; it sticks straight up to his stomach. I wish mine did that sometimes. So really, its just a matter of working with what you've got. I'll just reiterate what lots of other people have said, "If it hurts, don't do it." Just a good thing to remember.

My penis used to be the same way. I still get normal erections and everything, but my penis is more flexible. I have the ability to move it down a few inches. But I totally understand your problem. My penis used to get super rock-hard and get magnatized to my lower stomach.
