Sponsor sdp 05-07-2001, 11:38 AM It's normal to have a tiny amount of urine left in the urethra, but I'm only talking about a couple of drops. Maybe your husband has weak PC muscles or some problem with his prostate gland. He can do Kegel exercises to strengthen the muscles. To rule out other problems, he should check with his doctor. Average Joe 05-14-2001, 01:25 AM That's a sign of prostititis (hope I spelled that right). It's simply an inflammation of the prostate gland. Even if that's not what it is, he needs to get checked. It's not normal to be dribbling that long after urination. barewinds 05-23-2001, 01:42 AM The sphincter muscle the pinches the urethra muscle closed is about eight inches from the tip of your penis, so some urine is trapped in front of it. If a few shakes doesn't prevent your from dotting your trousers, you can use a technique called urethal milking. Simply run your finger along the underside of your penis to force out any remaining liquid. A study in the British Journal of Urology found that this little trick reduced post-pee dribble by nearly 30 percent. Smile4uhun 05-28-2001, 06:37 PM My boyfriend has this same issue....he comes out of the bathroom and there are droplets on his pants..I wonder if he is just lazy about shaking it right. I have been embarrassed when we are out places and this happens...I remember on one of our first dates, I saw it and wanted to die because I know others saw it too! JaneGee 06-23-2001, 10:20 AM My husband has the same problem and finds it embarassing. He simply puts a folded square of toilet paper in the front of his jockeys to act as a pad. It's flat and doesn't show. He removes it later and it sure solves the problem. I hear about dribbling every now and then on support groups, so I assume it's fairly common and normal. He just has to be a little more careful, that's all. Peace, Jane vnmlln 06-23-2001, 10:32 PM Mizmisty & JaneGee The kind of dribbling you describe is a common symptom of enlarged prostate. The herb Saw Palmetto does wonders for this problem. Also, do your husbands take a zinc supplement? Zinc also helps with an enlarged prostate, especially when a fellow is at the stage that you are describing. HAVE A GREAT DAY! Dribbling can be as you describe, or other people have described on this board, or it can be that you have no force when you urinate. Zinc and Saw Palmetto do wonders for this problem. I've always had to do it, for as long as I can remember. It does not mean he has prostatitis or any other dysfunction (unless he has other symptoms such as discomfort during urination). Some men are dribblers. I simply milk the remaining urine out of myself, dab with tissue to dry it and I'm fine. It's a simple technique and is not annoying to do. |
