Hi all. I am taking 36 mg of Concerta and I notice that, while I feel good for about 8 hours, I then crash with fatigue (not depression). I still feel hungover the next morning and have trouble getting up. Anyone else?

I think nearly everyone who takes stimulates crashes. Some crash harder than others.

What to do?

Let me know when you find out.

Thanks Bob. I do not feel "normal" again until I take my next dose. I'm just not sure it's worth it. And I felt initially that I had really found the answer to my life-long attention problems with Concerta.

Your dosage could be to high. My son takes it and after 8 hours he's back to norm and all over the place until we make him go to sleep. He dosen't have any crashing out, some times i wish he would LOL.

Talk to your doctor about the crash, and see if maybe changing from an extended release med to an instant release med is the answer. That way you're taking doses throughout the day (well, into the mid-afternoon), which should hopefully stave off the crash until late evening.

Not all doctors are willing, of course, due to the oft-cited potential for addiction and abuse of instant release meds, so you may or may not find success with this tack.
