Hi all, I'm new to these boards.
I just started Lo24 a week ago. My period is due now (if I wasn't on BC). I have taken a weeks worth of BC and just got my period (I think).
It literally just happened so I can't determine that it is just spotting, because I'm cramping and bleeding decently.
My wedding in on the 1st....and the reason I'm taking BC is to NOT have my period on my honeymoon!
What is happening? Is this normal??

If I'm understanding you correctly, you started it before your period. You should never start it before your period. You should only start it either on the first day or the Sunday after. If my assumption is correct that you started it the week before you were expecting your period, no wonder you're having this problem! It doesn't surprise me at all. There's nothing you can do now except ride it out, unfortunately.

The only reason I started it at that time was to delay my period for my wedding. So what is going to happen?

I am guessing that you'll probably have bleeding or spotting until your hormones calm down again. The problem is that you waited way too long to start the pill if you wanted to skip your period. Some time after I quit taking the pill, I wanted to take it just for a month to skip it so I wouldn't have it on vacation. I happened to be at my doc's office and asked her if she'd give it to me. She said that based on where I was in my cycle (I think I was somewhere in the middle maybe), that it was too late to try to skip it now. I waited too long to ask her so I ended up having my period during my vacation.
In order to make it work, you have to start it at least a month ahead of time or ideally 3 months ahead to give your body enough time to adjust to the hormones. Your doctor should have known better than to even prescribe it to you for skipping, knowing when your period was due and knowing when the wedding was supposed to happen. This is all your doctor's fault for not telling you all of this before giving you the pill because it's just not going to work. And your cycle is going to be screwy until the hormones in your body have a chance to adjust to you having taken the pill at the wrong time in your cycle.

OK, so what should I do to make sure that I do not get my period on the 1st?
