Well, the LP results are in and all tests came back negative. I thought I would be so relieved. Then, I think about all the ppl who have lesions, but no O bands.
After my vacation, I will continue to pursue what is wrong with me. Part of me just says to deal with it, but then I get all these weird symptoms, like right now, my thumb is pulsating. I really would like to know why!!
Thanks for all of your posts! You all have been so helpful!

Enjoy your vacation before getting back to the tests. I truly hope you do not have MS and you are going to come out of this fine.

I have tons of lesions and negative for Obands. Ive also never had mono, or any other illness which they say can contribute to both Obands, or MS...
I have an MS dx. I am not clear on what is stopping your doctors from giving you a diagnosis.
Have a wonderful vacation- if you are going somewhere hot, remember to not overheat your body. Jump in the ocean or pool regularly! And, when you get back, talk to your doctor about why he is hesitating to give you a dx and talk to him about second opinions....it might be worth your while to have one at this point, and any good doc, should encourage you to do so.
Have restful, relaxing, WONDERFUL down time! Anyone going thru what you have, deserves it!!!!

I just don't get it!! I will get on here and read MSer's descriptions about how they are feeling and I have the same exact symptoms. I guess I will be the one in the category of "wait and see." My pcp already said that I should wait a year and then go back for an MRI.
I just wish someone would give me a spine MRI! From what I have read, my arm and leg pain could be caused by lesions in the spine, yet there is no clinical evidence to order this. Oh well-yes, I am going to try to enjoy my vacation and try to ignore my symptoms. Although, now I have my kids watching my thigh muscles twitch. They think its pretty cool!
Thanks again Jayhawk and Nik!

Youre welcome..my suggestion is, when you get back, really make an effort to see an MS Specialist as soon as you are able. Its time for a little more knowledge then your PCP can give you...
enjoy your vacation, and know that a few weeks, or months, isnt going to make that much difference in the long run. what will be- will be. Ill cross my fingers for ya.
Have a good time!

krbuerg,
I would hope your doctors would do a cervical spine MRI just simply to rule out any posibility of lesions in that area. MS affects the Central Nervous System (CNS) which includes the Brain, Spine and Optic Nerve. Lesions can and do show up in any or all of those areas.
However, cervical spine lesions are well known for causing problems with the legs such as numbness, weakness and mobility problems.
I would hope you and your doctors are looking at possible other causes for your symptoms other than MS. There are approximately 100 other disorders/diseases that have similar symptoms as MS.
Enjoy your vacation!
