I have been on seasonique for two weeks now and I have noticed that it has made me dehydrated.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a normal problem?

I was on seasonique for 2 1/2 years, didn't have any real dehydration problems, but my mood was a rollercoaster. I don't reccommend Seasonique for that very reason, I've changed to the NuvaRing and it's a world of difference!! I can't even describe! And I'm not the only one, I've got about 5 friends who have tried Seasonique and had the same sensitivity and mood swing problems.

I've been on seasonique for 3 weeks. My doctor took me off birth control two months before because I had high blood pressure. My blood pressure didn't go down, so they're putting me in a research study for a new diet. I'm not ont he diet yet though. When I was off the pill, my boyfriend and I always used a condom. I would have my period, it seemed like every two weeks. I couldn't wait to get on birth control and be regular again. I was on a different form before though. I had one of my periods, two weeks after my previous one, and started taking Seasonique. I waited over a week before my boyfriend and I had sex. If I were on normal birth control, I'd be having my period soon.
A week after taking it, I got heart burn. I'm 17 years old. It could have been from what I had eaten that night, though I didn't eat right before bed. I haven't had heart burn since. I have been slightly nauseous, no to the point of throwing up, just kinda.. Blehh. I was having some problems with digestion, going more often than usual.
Here's me being a typical worry wart. What if the "period" I had before i started seasonique wasn't a period. I mean it seemed like it was, but it only lasted 4 days. Should i be worried? Could i be pregnant? Are the symptoms i've been experiencing only because of the birth control? I want to take a pregnancy test, but my entire family and boyfriend freak out about it.
I guess, I'm worried right now, and need some answers.

BritBriana, I'm currently on seasonique as well. I was getting sick to my stomach for the first week of being on it. The first day, I even threw up. The nausea is a common side effect of almost any birth contol. Your "four day period" could have very likely been breakthrough bleeding. It's also very common to either spot, or have bleeding much like a regular period. Those problems don't seem to be that big of a concern. However, if you're still really worried about them, it's always best to see your gyn.
As for the possibility of being pregnant, there's always a chance whether you're careful or not. So, again, it's best to see your gyn. about that too and get checked to make sure that you are not pregnant.

Well. That was the period i began my pills on.
But i was slightly scared because it wasn't very long, and i had been having them every 2-3 weeks. So i didn't know if it was in fact a period.
I'm just slightly a worry wart. But i figured I'd come and share my experience as well, just so other's knew as well.
I still haven't gotten a pregnancy test. To be quite honest, I don't have the time right now to stop and get one, but that's what i just keep telling myself. I may just be putting it off because it just stresses me out.
It's really convenient to not have periods as often as normal. A week before my period would come, i would get UTI's pretty regularly. I looked it up and it said that pregnant women get them, and i knew i wasn't pregnant, but I thought that it might be due to the hormones that are similar with pregnancy and your period. Or just hormones in general. My gyn said that that might be it but screened me for everything else anyways. Then put me on seasonique.
I was worried that seasonique may be similar to depo, considering they do just about the same thing. I was on depo for a year, i was spotting/bleeding the entire time. It was not a fun experience. Just when i thought i was finally done bleeding, it would start again.
But so far on seasonique i haven't bled at all. Just nausea, not all the time, usually in the mornings but this might be because i take my pill at 8PM.
I'll get a pregnancy test tomorrow and check back, though currently, I am not as worried as I once was.

I am so upset with Seasonique right now! I'm going on my 6th week of Seasonique. The first three weeks were fine and I didn't have my scheduled period. I was also dancing at most 10 hours a day for those weeks straight. The next week I started my period on Monday, which I'm not supposed to for a while. I have had it since. It's been two weeks and today it got extremely heavy! It's never been like this, and just started with Seasonique! The max for me was 6 maybe 7 days, and light. Seasonique is not worth it.

BritBriana, I'm such a worry wart too. So I definitely understand that you're stressing over the possibility of being pregnant. But you really need to find out. That'll ease your stress. And if you are, you need to have time to think of all the options available and decide what's best for you.
Good luck.
Kanne, those problems you're describing don't seem to be common Seasonique side effects. If it were me, I'd contact my gyn. and set up an appointment. Seasonique may be having a weird effect on your system and if that's the case, the best thing for you to do may be to try a different birth control. Definitely don't want to cause any problems on your body.

Well, I'm not pregnant, So that's a relief! haha.
I'm just hoping I don't gain too much weight, I feel like i'm a lot hungrier than i usually am!
I just started on the Dash diet for high blood pressure, So i'm eating a lot of vegetables and fruits, So hopefully, that counter acts the weight gain I might get.
i think the convenience of having 4 periods a year outweighs my side effects, so far anyways. I've just been getting the typical side effects. My nausea has decreased, but now my boobs hurt, which will probably go away with time.
I hope I don't get the mood swings which other's have reported, or dehydration!
If any of the more serious side effects occur i'll have to talk to my gyn and switch on to something else. I'm hoping i don't have to switch.
Overall, this pill is great.

I am on the low-dose version, Lo-Seasonale. I experienced spotting in week 8 which led to heavy spotting / light flow from week 9 to currently (week 11).
I too have experience dehydration even when consuming 2 plus liters of water daily.
I think I have also had some similar heart burn / slightly elevated BP / and even some minimal blood clotting. I feel pinching in my nerves... Not sure if this is BCP related or not. I am eating healthier now than compared to years and exercising 5-7 days a week.
If this continues throughout my second pack (of 3 mos. dosage), I will likely discontinue use. I am trying and hoping this will work but risking my health is not an option.
