I'm going to a waterpark on vacation on Thursday and I got my period today. Is there a way to stop it by then?

Would you really want to fool with Mother Nature that way?. Of course not! I would simply hope it's almost over before you go, and pack proper supplies to get you through your vacation, in a clean and comfortable way.
Have a wonderful time!

There are tablets you can take to delay it but I'm not sure you can stop it once it has started. I have taken tablets to delay it but you have to start about 1-2 wks beforehand.

Once it already starts, there is literally nothing you can do. To be more specific, once the process starts in the pituitary glad to begin the cycle, it's already too late by then. You really should have thought of this 3 months ago, or more, to get on a proper regimen of birth control and adjust your body to it so you could attempt skipping your period. But you waited way too long to do anything about it now.
For future reference, when you know you have a vacation coming up, if you want to impact your period at all, you need to start making arrangements with your doctor for getting on the pill 3 months ahead of time. If you wait any longer than that, it's not going to work and you're going to have your period anyway.

I don't know your age, but as a cool old lady...;) I would suggest you try to live your life everyday, perod or not. Just keep yourself prepared all the time. Make yourself a little kit that you keep in your purse or backpack that contains everything you need for your period, no matter when you have it.
Put everything in a cute zippered bag, with room for aspirin, napkins, tampons, some wipies, some extra panties, whatever you need.
Rather than try to change your cycle, or have to avoid unexpected opportunities...I would simply accept that periods are a part of womanhood, and live every moment you get to.
I wish you well.

I agree that once it is there, you can't really do too much! They do make little cups that can be used during your period that make it seem like it's not there (instead of using a pad or tampon) but I haven't tried them myself so I don't know how well they work. I think they are called "diva cups." For future reference, the only way you can delay your period is to do so on the birth control pill. I do this occasionally and it works well (just skip the placebo pills). However, I wouldn't go on the pill JUST for this reason!
