I'm a 17 year old male. I've been worried that I have lymphoma for 5 years. My lymph nodes in the neck and groin have been slightly swollen throughout this time period.
Recently I've gone to the doctor to have multiple blood tests, an ultrasound, and a CT scan. My blood tests show elevated bilirubin, but CT scan shows nothing around my liver or bile duct. They suspect Gilbert's syndrome. The ultrasound showed lymph nodes around the pancreas, with the largest being 2cms long.
I have an increased awareness of anything that might point to bad health: slightly ridged finger and toe nails, brittle hair that falls out easily (no noticeable hair loss), dry skin and hair, new moles and bumps on my skin, and my health obsessed mindset.
I am in a constant state of worry. I can't concentrate on anything else besides possibly having lymphoma. What can I do to assure myself that I'm not sick?

I'm not a doctor or anything, but I would think if you've been thinking you've had lymphoma for 5 years, you would have more symptoms present such as weight loss, fatigue, itchy skin, night sweats, etc. I've been thinking I've had lymphoma for awhile also, but my doctor informed me that I would have more symptoms then just some swollen lymph nodes! But to clear your mind, make a doctor's appointment and mention possible lymphoma to your doctor. Ask God for a peace of mind and try not think too much about it or look to deep in it!
You're in my prayers and I hope all goes well!!
God Bless!!!
Also, are you constantly touching, rubbing, and picking at your lymph nodes?? because if so this can be preventing them from returning to normal size!!

Ok, I had one of the swollen inguinal lymph nodes removed on Thursday. I am still waiting for the results, and they said the lymph node looked normal upon removal. What is the chance that cancer is present in the lymph node if it appears normal? Is follicular lymphoma common in teens?

No, it is not. What makes you think you have Follicular lymphoma?

Because I have had these swollen lymph nodes for 5 years without any other symptoms. My blood tests have come back pretty normal, and the only lymphoma that it could probably be is an indolent form.

I was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma and I am 47. My understanding is that this is usually found in people in their 60's. Why haven't they done a biopsy to find out what you have?

I got my biopsy results back. I don't have lymphoma. Turns out my lymph nodes became swollen after an infection I had five years ago, and they never went back to normal size. Hooray.
