i don't know if this is in the right section or really what i'm looking for in posting this but i just can't cope anymore.
i posted on here a while back but that was when i was waiting for my referal to a gastro.
i've suffered with stomach problems all my life and have had them regular for 10 years and 100% 24/7 constant for 4 years.
i have no diagnosis of anything and nobody has ever been interested in it. we paid privately to go down to great ormond street and now we are on the NHS with them and i will be having some scopes done in 4 weeks.
i dont feel like i cant take a single second longer of it never mind 4 weeks. i feel constantly nauseas, always getting what i've eaten/drank come back in my mouth [though rarely am i full on sick], its really acidy, i get constipation, cramps in my stomach and chest and wretching all on a daily basis.
i have no idea what i have wrong with me - the doctor at gosh suspected a milk allergy but i cut out milk for 3 months [aswell as wheat, eggs and soya] and it didn't change a thing. we've searched the net but found absolutely nothing that matches my symptoms and it feels like we're getting nowhere.
i dont have any appetite ever and eating is pure hell for me.
i have missed alot of school throughout my life and have missed the last 3 years altogether because i've just been to ill to go.
on the whole i try to be a happy person because theres people far worse off than me, but i just can't cope with a single second longer.
i take omeprazole, ondansetron, metochlopromide, gaviscon and scopoderm patches and have tried all the anti emetics both prescription and over the counter in the past and none have effect on me.
i just cant take anymore and dont know what the hell is going on or what to do with myself. i feel like i just can't carry on. i want it to stop :(
does anyone have any advice or anything i can do - im so desperate.
thanks

I know waiting for these tests/procedures can be a trial, and then waiting for the results on top of it!
At least with the endoscope he should be able to give you an idea of what's going right then and there. Gastritis, ulcer, small bowel obstruction, hernia, problems with your esophagus, even GERD will be pretty obvious in the 'scope.
Hopefully you'll have your answers soon! You've waited this long, just a few more weeks.
It took me six years to be diagnosed with Celiac disease and the whole time I was telling them, "it's Celiac, it runs in my family!" They had the gall to act surprised with the biopsy came back positive.
You mentioned avoiding wheat. Have you ever had the blood test for Celiac disease?

thanks for getting back to me :)
sorry you had to go through all that though to get a celiacs diagnosis. i've had the blood test for celiacs, and also had a blood test for stomach ulcars a fair few times also [however i hear that stomach ulcar testing via bloods isn't 100% accurate], but i take omeprazole which is what they usually use to treat stomach ulcars, so maybe that would have cleared it up if it was an ulcar. i've had pin prick allergy tests to about 10 different foods too [although it was a couple of years ago so i can't remember what they were, although i do remember one was for wheat and one was for soya] - all came back clear saying i wasn't allergic to any of them.
i think the main thing thats worrying me is that every time i see someone they just don't think its anything. or they do tests [i've had bloods and mri's of the brain and spine (to check it wasn't a tumour/lesion/spinal fluid build up causing the sickness)] and they always come back and say nothings there and they totally aren't interested anymore. i'm really worried that when i go for this, if they don't pick up anything that they're just going to do the same and not bother with me again. i admit that at first i was really worried about having tests done, because i know that they make you feel even more yucky which is the last thing you want when your feeling yucky already [lol], so for a long time i didn't really push them for anything and tried to accept it.
i also had a barium swallow done when i was 6 which the doctors said showed a "floppy tummy" [which, other than whoever the doctor was that said that - no other professionals seem to know what on earth it means], but he said that my stomach moved more than a normal persons like, it wasn't so much being anchored secure so to speak, and was moving around my abdomen more than normal - but said it was nothing to worry about. so that concluded my barium swallow to say it was clear.
thanks again for getting back to me - it some how gives me a little bit of comfort that someone is listening to me about it :)
hope your as well as possible!
