I have been on birth control for over 2 years now non-stop. I've never had problems with my period coming or going on time. My average is 6 days. I am very good about taking the pill every day. Last month, I started a week early but it lasted the average 6 days then stopped. The month before that, I missed my period completely. This is not like my body's normal behavior at all.
I continued to take my bc pills as normal. So now I have hit week 3 on this current cycle of continual bleeding. It isn't extremely heavy or light. It's the average amount that I normally release. I have 2 worries.
1. My mother had cervical cancer and my sister HAS ovarian cancer. They both developed these fairly early. My mother at age 30 and my sister at age 36. 2 different cancers, I know. I asked my gyno about a special test that my sister took but she kind of treated it like I was being paranoid. When I told her how my sister was when she found out she had the cancer, she did seem surprised, but she still seemed skeptical about my worries.
2. I'm now 26. I'm thinking it's a possibility that my low hormone bill should be upgraded to something stronger. It seems to me as if my body think I'm not taking the pill even though I am.
Please respond with an advice. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
