i'm 24 and my hair is starting to get kinda thin. I was just wondering if rogain would help get back some of the thickness, but right now i'm not financially able to start using it. How much would it cost say...per year or using rogain? and another thing is if I stop using it, I think I heard that the hair that was grown will fall out. will it be only the hair that has been newly grown or will it potentially be worse than before i started using it?

You might call them and get some info on the phone. I am a woman and have been using it for some time. It is very often on sale at Walgreen's drug.
Hard for me to know how it works for a man, but worth a free phone call. They are very pleasant to speak with and can answer your questions.

Hi fukaimori11---
I saw the question you posted, and would like to offer some help. I know that you don't have a lot of cash right now, but you really need to stop the hair loss asap, because your hair follicles are getting slowly choked out, making your hair thinner, and eventually your hairs won't grow at all from those follicles. Unfortunately, once a hair follicle stops growing a hair, it can't be revitalized. But even if it's thin, it can be revived to it's former thickness.
There is hope that in the near future (three years or so) there will be a remedy for even bald skin.
Hair restoration products are expensive unfortunately. If you wanted to go that route, I would recommend PROVILLUS rather than Rogain.
A cheaper, but less powerful tool is getting the right vitamins. There are certain vitamins and minerals that help your hair's health. Get a vitamin supplement that has some or all of the following:
Saw Palmetto
Nettle Root
Dong Quai
Pumpkin Seed
Oh, and things like ponytails and corn rows put stress on your hair---not a good thing to do.
Hope this helps.

When you first start using Rogaine, your probably gonna shed hair the first few months you use it. This is normal the shedding. Then hair should start to grow in.
But alot of people stop using the rogaine once they start shedding. Stick to using it and if you notice no hair improvement after like 7 or 8 months.
Then probably i would stop using it.
