Ive got PCOS and im soooo fed up with being so hairy, its really getting me down, i wax and epilate but it just grows back so fast and i get such bad ingrown hairs all the time, its affecting me soo much. I wondered if any of you have had or have looked into laser hair removal? im curious to know if it is available on the NHS for people like us. or if it even works for ppl with PCOS. Any experiences of this??

Better consult your doctor about laser treatments.

Hi!
I'm the same as you, the facial hair is awful. I've waxed too and I just break out. I looked into laser hair removal and the beautician i went to said that she also has pcos and that she suffered from the hairiness too but she successfully lasered it off. She said that it depends on the person, mine is quiet fair so it wouldn't work as well on me as it would on someone with darker hair. I don't know if you can get it on medical but i live in irelland and for me to get it done costs a standard of €20 plus €3 for every blast which for me was around 13. it can be expensive but it only needs to be done once a month and it doesn't hurt at all. Hope this helps.

Hi I have PCOS and I tried laser hair removal about 6 years ago and it didn't work at all. I then went to an electrolysis, who by the way also does laser, and she told me laser doesn't always work for women with PCOS so she doesn't do laser on women who have PCOS. I did electrolysis and she used the blend method. It took almost one year but it was well worth it, today I have no hairs at all, I just go in every six months for a touch up. The cost was $43USD per treatment, it was awhile ago but I would say maybe there were about 30-40 treatments.
