I am a 36 year old female.
For almost 2 weeks I have had daily nausea/queasiness, and discomfort/cramps in my stomach, mainly upper but sometimes lower down. Also cramps immediately after eating and for a couple of hours after, then my stomach feels very 'empty' and gurgling. Doesnt seems to matter what I eat - fatty or healthy foods have the same effect. Feel like i want to burp but it doesnt really help. My appetite is ok, once i sit down to eat im really hungry (though hurting!) and bowels normal.

I visited my doctor and he gave me Omeprazole 20mg, and said I probably just have a 'dodgy' stomach possibly caused by stress. He gave me a physical exam and said my liver is not enlarged and he can't feel any gallstones. I also started taking a course of probiotics recommended by my local health shop.

After 3 days on this i started to feel a bit better - the nausea reduced to just a bit during the day time. In fact yesterday i felt almost normal and was very pleased. Today however, it seems i am back to square one - bad nausea, cramps (around my ovaries area as well as up high) - i have a lot of saliva in my mouth, and a bad taste that doesnt go when i have mints. I'm very fed up and concerned as i thought i was getting better. It seems not..

A month ago i had very severe tonsilitus and was on strong course of antibiotics - could this have any bearing on my symptoms?

If this was Acid reflux wouldn't the omeprazole have worked on these symptoms? I can't go back to my doc until next week, and i'm getting anxious (I am an anxious person and have been stressed lately) - what could this all be?

Wow you sound like me - I have no gallbladder and right now I am experiencing nausau, bloating, belching. I have had every test imaginable. I thought it was stress too but I don't have any. Mine comes and goes too.

Does yours happen every day gigi? Mine is worse some days than others but it is always there. It's been a month now with no real change, except now i feel a bit better in the evenings. Ive lost about 5lbs in that time, though i guess im eating a little less. Just don't know what this could be - anyone else have any advice to offer?

I am getting a endoscopy done soon. I notice when I take probiotics and prilosec it helps a little. I have episodes like every week for two days or every other week. I don't eat all day when it happens then after the second day I start to eat again. My stomach will also get sore after the nausea like I did 100 situps. It feels like a belt is around my waist and someone is tightning it.

How often do you have bowel movements? I am very constipated and I am wondering if that is related to my symptoms.

Finally. I stay up all hours searching for an answer since gastro is vague and wants to do a endoscope whenever. I really don't want this test so I try to figure it out. I definitely have acid reflux. You're story seemed to fit mine. I'm taking prilosec for the second round. I quit the first time because I felt hungry all the time. Now I have painful cramps after eating, am nauseous, have a bad taste in my mouth, and of course the acid comes up too. I've never had these problems in my life.

They found nothing in my endoscopy but mild gastritis but that is not what is causing my pain. I might have post cholecystectomy syndrome or colitis. So I have to have a colonoscopy done to find out.
