Many people here describe the pain as under the right ribs. I'm trying to determine where exactly so I can compare with my discomfort. Is it like immediately below the right breast, closer to the waist line, what does under the ribs mean? Also, is it tender to the touch? Please respond I am very nervous about this. Thank you and may we all feel better soon!

If you run your hand along your ribs from breastbone to side, the gb is just under (behind) the ribs in the middle of that arc of ribs. Sort of directly down from the right breast and at a 45 degree angle from the belly button.

In my case the pain was initially in the lower ribs on the right side, then moved over to the left side. They were so sore that I had to sleep on my back. The area below the ribs on the right side where the gallbladder is located was periodically sore to the touch. Other common symptoms are: generalized pain in the back, pain in the right shoulder, diarrhea, abdominal noises, pale colored stool etc.

My pain was mostly centered directly in the center, just under my sternum .. during a peak attack. Afterwards, there was tenderness, sometimes alot...from the center to just to the right of the center of the sternum
