It is hard, er, I mean difficult, to determine what is going on. If you enjoy females and have no particular desire to have sex with men, then you are probably not gay. It could simply be related to porn you may have looked at - when you see naked guys, you think of naked women. Some men simply look at male anatomy and envision themselves with that particlar body or body part and imagine themselves engaged in hetero sex thusly.

Hey Matt
It's sort of tough to answer much here--so a couple of questions and some guesses, ok?

You say when you see a guy nude--do you mean in a picture, or live? Probably a little different. A pic of a naked guy, say, say having sex, probably makes you think of doing it yourself--it doesn't necessarily mean you have an attraction to doing it with a guy.

Seeing another guy naked in person? Well, I'd guess you mean in a gym locker room or shower, which is where you'd most likely see other guys. You don't say how old you are, probably a factor. Young guys erect all the time, not a big deal. We don't want it to happen when we're changing or showering with other guys, like teammates, but it happens all the time. And there's nothing you can do about it...so don't worry too much.

One big difference, I think, between if it happens in a team lockerroom or a public gym: you know your teammates and they know you, so you may get your balls busted a little, but everyone has it happen. Probably more embarrassing in a public gym where the other guys may not know you.

I wouldn;t get in a sweat about it. I played sports from the time I was a kid right through college, and I still workout everyday, so I've seen plenty. If you think you're the first and only guy who's felt awkward about it, forget it, bud--happens to just about all guys at some time or another. Me included.

A while ago, I read something (in a decent journal) about how it's almost reflex, that if one guy "goes up," others will--something about being competitive and making sure some other guy's not lining up for something you cant have. haha. Maybe that's true.

I'm gonna guess you're somewhat 'young,' say early 20s max. If that's right, here's something to think about: you're more self-conscious now than you ever will be later on. It's a horror show to pop one in HS, but as you get older, you'll find 2 things: you won't erect as often, and when you do, you won't care as much. Older guys, usually more confident in who they are, etc, won't much care as long as you're minding your own business. There isn't a guy on earth who hasn't had a "surprise" event happen "downtown."

You make it a point to say you're not gay or bi (neither am I, btw) and that you do stuff with women. It's cool. But that's another age issue I think. Personally, I don't care what another guy does or is attracted to.

If it happens to you in a locker room, shower, steam, whatever, just be cool about it. Finish showering, or whatever, and don't think about it too much, just relax and it will go down. And yeah, as long as you're not parading around, so what if another guy sees it? It's probably happened to him too.

Go easy on yourself, and just be a good confident guy--you'll be fine. Good luck.

Hi guys,

ITs not a big deal to get a boner in the gym. It happens to me all the time. I am a happily married man. I have seen guys with semi or fully erected stages. Lot of guys in the gym shower always seem to be turned on...
