About 2 weeks ago i noticed a re dlump on the shaft of my penis. it is painfull to touch. i thought it was maybe just a pimple so i tried to pop it, puss came out when i did but it just seems to stay there and more puss fills in to it. How can i get rid of it? or is it serious and should i have a doctor look at it?

yes i am, this isn't the first time i have had one though, it seems to go away then come back, it is always in the same spot. i think this would be the third time. the first time came before i was sexualy active.

Hmm - well, the fact that it doesn't go away after 2 weeks, and you've had this before in the same spot, leads me to believe its not a pimple. My guess is its a Herpes Simplex virus, an STD. The virus will manifest itself from time to time in the form of red, pimple-like blisters on the genitals (basically a cold sore). They can go away, then come back from time to time.

You should really have a doctor take a look and diagnose this though. If you do have Herpes, its not a big deal - a lot of people have it, and it usually doesn't do anything more than simply cause these red bumps/blisters from time to time. But if you do have it, you should be aware of it, as you can spread it to your sexual partners, particularly when those red bumps appear.

how could it be a std if i had the symptoms before ever having sex? That doesn't make sense to me.

Sorry, I didn't see that part. You're right then - not likely an STD. Although it is possible to contract the Herpes virus through kissing someone with an open cold sore, or receiving oral sex from someone with an open cold sore. I don't know if any of this applies to you, but just a possibility.

Other than that, I can't think of anything other than it is just a pimple.

thanks for the help, i took a really close look at it just the other day, it's going away and there is a small patch of hair there. maybe it was an infected hair folicle
