My mom had cancer on one of her kidney, and had it removied 2-3 years ago. There were many changes to her body, physical and emotional... But ever since, she was still always sick. She's tired so easily, she goes to sleep at 9 the latest... I'm not sure if this is because of the pre-menopause symptoms she's going through but she has insomnia as well as major mood swings. She told me how her periods are ridiculously painful and neverending..
Anyways, my question here is what would be good for my mom? I want to help her in some way cause even after few years, she's not fully... herself? I guess she'll never be like her old self, but I at least want her to get better in some way.
Any suggestions?

Are you sure that your mother's problems are all due to the removal of her kidney? I'm assuming her remaining kidney is functioning ok. Is it? If not, there are lab tests that can be done to check that out. If her remaining kidney IS functioning ok, then one can assume her problems are probably due to other causes. What do the doctors say? My husband also had one of his kidneys removed just over 5 years ago. His remaining kidney has been affected, as he's a type 2 diabetic and he's on a very stict diet. Apart from that, though, he's doing very well.

Wishing your mother the best outcome.
