That is a very good question and the answer is it really all depends on the person, normal outbreaks, that are not first time and are not overly stressful can be anywhere from 5 to 7 days depending on the person. Stress plays a major factor in OB's and it can cause an OB to be more serve and last longer and can even cause multipy Ob's so be mindful of this factor, if you can have the doctor give you a prescription for an antiviral drug like Valtrex this will help control the symptoms and duration, try to get plenty of rest and eat well, avoid chocolate and nuts these tend to contribute to OB's. Other then that it just has to run its course.. I hope you feel better soon.. :) Please refrain from all sexual activity at this time, you at high risk of passing the virus, also make all partners and future partners aware of your status you can still pass this virus when NO symptoms are present. take Care:)
